Arboreto Advisors was founded by Gianni Ascani, an international banking and financial-services professional with more than two decades of experience across banking, treasury, correspondent banking, financial markets, audit and financial operations.
Gianni has worked with banks, financial institutions, broker-dealers and international businesses across the U.S., the Caribbean and Latin America, giving Arboreto Advisors a practical understanding of how financial institutions operate — and what businesses need from their banking and financial partners.
Experience That Connects Banking and Business
Gianni's professional experience includes senior positions in banking and financial institutions in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.
As Vice President of Correspondent Banking at Stern International Bank, he led USD correspondent banking business across Latin America and the Caribbean, developing and managing relationships with banks, broker-dealers and remittance companies and supporting clients through onboarding, compliance and operational processes.
Previously, as Group Controller & Group Treasurer at Waterloo Investment Holdings and Deputy General Manager of British Caribbean Bank, he was responsible for treasury, banking operations and correspondent banking relationships while overseeing bond portfolios of approximately USD 150 million.
Earlier in his career, Gianni served as Chief Financial Officer of Turks & Caicos Banking Company, where he managed accounting, treasury and operational finance functions and maintained relationships with regulators, auditors and correspondent banks.
His experience also includes obtaining an Investment Dealer licence from the Turks & Caicos Islands Financial Services Commission and implementing the Interactive Brokers Advisors solution.
